Next version will be version py1

soooooo... i've decided to convert this game to a real programming language. construct classic allows for rather quickly putting in more content, but it's bugged badly and it's windows only (though some people are reportedly able to run this on linux systems) and construct 2 isn't better. amongst other problems, recent crash-bugs that defy logic and reason (not the music producing software) were the last straws that let me to this decision. maybe, if there is some demand, i'll make this even open source and put it on github or someplace. oh i forgot - the "real programming language" i mentioned earlier is python. python runs on almost every type of system, even android and shitty macs. but why not c or java or something? because with c it takes too much time to write stuff (because it's pretty complicated; at least for me), and java is slow and buggy imo (not as bad as construct though) also java is a needy bastard who feeds on your system's life fluids.

so what do you think? please let me know. i'll keep you updated with screenshots, testing versions.
oh and is it ok, if i don't compile the next versions? that means, i have less work, but you have to download and install python to run the game.

    Just dropping by to leave an opinion; since i'm not a programmer i can only speak as a perverted nerd who has seen many hgames fall into oblivion, abandoned half way done. So i think the point is, just do the way you feel comfortable with. If you like what you make and it is also a rewarding occupation, then suit yourself, don't need anyone telling what's better for you. Since this is internet, there'll always be people saying one thing and others claiming the opposite.

    You don't want to compile the next version? (hell if i even know what that means) then don't do it, haters will hate no matter what and the ones interested will take it as it is.
    (That said, it is a different thing if you are getting paid, then money commands no matter what)

    Concerning the open source, i don't know if you are aware of CoC's development, but i think that's a good example. There are many other perverted nerds who are willing to help out, the question is: is that something i'm gonna regret? what if i don't like where it is going? will i ever lose my virg... ehem

    Anyway, i think Fenoxo's forum is a good place to make some noise with Prison Entity, supposed you want it.

    1. thanks for your elaborate post, that really cleared my mind somehow. sorry for your english? i din't notice nothin. i ain't english myself. the game is also being developed multilingual from the start. english, german, russian. later maybe more, but i for myself only know those three well enough. russians need stuff to fap to, too, since most of them aren't good with english.

      i agree they need fap material, and huge amounts of it, i was very surprised to know about the mortality rate being 25% for men younger than 55 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-25961063)

  2. Yep, Python is a good choice. I worked with it before and it's a fine choice for a 2D game, at last you won't get as many headaches as the other choices, haha!

    I think you could only compile the big updates only, but that's only when you have most of the game done. As Pedro said, just use whatever you feel confortable. As long as it works for you, it should be more than enough.

    Keep with it man! You got the graphics already, so now you have to put'em together (ha!).

    1. yes. but first step will be making this basically playable, so you can eat, sleep, work and so on. and thank you too for reinforcing my decision to migrate this to python. that helps a lot.
